Internship programme
Minimum 3 months of internship placement
- Responsibilities:
- Assisting with EcoKnights' projects and tasks across pillars.
- Shadowing and learning from experienced professionals.
- Participating in brainstroming sessions and discussion.
- Completing assigned projects and presentations.
- Information gathering and analysing related to environmental topics, projects, and initiatives.
- Requirements:
- Enrolled in a relevant degree program or recently graduated.
- Eagerness to learn and contribute to the organization.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Junior graphic designer
Visually communicate EcoKnights' mission, values, and initiatives to various stakeholders.
- Responsibilities:
- Designing visual content for various platforms including digital and print media.
- Collaborating with the marketing team to develop creative concepts.
- Assisting in the creation and maintenance of brand assets.
- Keeping up-to-date with industry trends and best practices.
- Requirements:
- Proficiency in graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite or Canva.
- Strong attention to detail and creative thinking.
- A portfolio showcasing previous design work (if applicable).
Program Coordinator
Coordinating, facilitating, and organising EcoKnights' flagship programs and initiatives.
- Responsibilities:
- Coordinating logistics for program events, meetings, and activities.
- Managing communication between program stakeholders.
- Assisting in the development and implementation of program strategies.
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation.
- Requirements:
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Experience in project or program coordination preferred.
- Knowledge of relevant software tools (e.g., Microsoft Office, project management software).
PROGRAM COMMUNICATIONS
Manage and disseminate information about the EcoKnights' flagship programs, initiatives and achievements to internal and external stakeholders.
- Responsibilities:
- Developing and implementing communication strategies to promote program initiatives.
- Creating content for various channels including social media, newsletters, and website.
- Monitoring and analyzing the effectiveness of communication efforts.
- Collaborating with internal teams to ensure consistent messaging.
- Requirements:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in content creation and social media management.
- Knowledge of communication tools and platforms.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

My internship at EcoKnights was highly rewarding. I learned about environmental sustainability and worked on various projects like developing a sustainability plan for schools, conducting interviews on water conservation issues, and organizing a tree planting program. I gained knowledge in conducting research and effectively communicating findings to different stakeholders. Additionally, I enhanced my project management skills and felt prepared for future challenges. Working as a team at EcoKnights taught me the importance of collaboration, which was especially valuable as an introvert. I believe that the experience has prepared me for the hustle and bustle of the high-paced working environment I will be venturing into in my future endeavours. As I am passionate about nature and ecological designs, I enjoyed planning and designing the Science Garden project, supported by EcoKnights partner Manulife. Throughout this project, I have learnt project management, ideation and making it into an achievable action plan. Also, as a Japanese student, it was a great experience for me to engage with the indigenous people in Malaysia to have a better understanding on different cultures in Malaysia. I was also entrusted with the task to create an "Impact Driven Framework", which is a mechanism of creating a lasting sustainable impact on local communities. This framework allows to carefully analyze what a community needs and how we can support them. I appreciate all the trust and opportunities during my 3 months of being a team member. The journey was not plain-sailing at EcoKnights, but it was a great learning process. And I am sure that I will make use of this experience for my future.
