12 July 2018, Sabah and Sarawak – On 7th and 8th July 2018, Nissan Nurtures Nature Programme has successfully completed their second campaign at the Kuching branch of Edaran Tan Chong Motor showroom and Imago Mall in Kota Kinabalu. The campaign consisted of 2 activities – DIY Self-watering System workshop by EcoKnights and Eco Talk.

The objective of DIY Self-watering System workshop is to teach the public about the method to plant herbs with a simple way to take care of them by using recycled plastic water bottles. Through this workshop, participants had fun creating their own DIY Self-watering system. The DIY Self-watering System is one of the ways to reuse plastic bottles, hence reducing plastic waste as well as reducing carbon dioxide emission.

Edaran Tan Chong Motor provided the recycled plastic water bottles needed throughout the workshop and 3 types of herbs, which are coriander, oregano and sylvetta wild rocket for the participants.

The Eco Talk held in Imago Mall was given by Anton Ngui of Future Alam Borneo who spoke on the topic ‘You as Environment’. Anton shared on the platform-making examples of Future Alam Borneo and other organisations and how each person can find a ‘point of impact’, be it in a very small sphere or even global challenges.

There were 172 of Nissan’s potential buyers and their family members who participated in this campaign.
