World Environment Day: “Love Our Forest” Digital Art Competition by EcoKnights and Vanke Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: In conjunction with World Environment Day 2021, EcoKnights and Vanke Malaysia have jointly organized a digital art competition entitled “Love Our Forest”, open for participants situated in Selangor and Kuala Lumpur. The title itself is an apparent indication that forest conservation is a crucial element that needs to be cultivated among the public. That being said, there were two separate categories to be contested – doodling and coloring, which were designed to embody the theme of “Love Our Forest”. The first 100 participants who registered in each category by June 30 were given an art pack consisting of a printed tote bag and art materials.
When it comes to either doodling or coloring, the program does not pose constraints on creativity, it is entirely up to the participants’ imagination as to how they can express the theme in their unique way. Given the nature of the program, which promotes creativity and a sustainable mindset, the program has successfully drawn the public’s attention with more than 150 registrations received, showing great enthusiasm among the general public.
A series of evaluation stages were held, attended by both EcoKnights and Vanke members. Through carefully drafted criteria, EcoKnights and Vanke chose 3 winners for the coloring category, and 5 winners for the doodling category. The winners for the two categories were announced on EcoKnights’ Facebook and Instagram. Aside from the cash prizes, the winners have also received a thank-you card as a token of appreciation for their wonderful artworks and great participation.
Once again, EcoKnights and Vanke would like to thank all supporting members and the general public for making this program a successful one. Lastly, it is hoped that the program had delivered joy to the participants, as well as to achieve the intended goal, which is to increase awareness of forest conservation among the public.
