Paul Watkiss has over 25 years of experience in climate change economics research and consultancy. Paul has worked extensively on the economic costs of climate change and the economics of adaptation. He led the CLIMATECOST project on the economic costs of climate change and is leading the co-design and co-production activities in the COACCH project, on the economic costs of climate change in Europe, including the costs and benefits of adaptation. He led the design study and contributed to the first UK Climate Change Risk Assessment (CCRA), including the economic cost analysis, and is lead author for the method chapter in UK CCRA3 and leading the valuation analysis. Paul has extensive practical experience in undertaking economic cost studies internationally. He led national economic costs of climate change studies in Kenya, Rwanda, Ethiopia, Tanzania, and Nepal and Bangladesh.  He is currently working for the FCDO, leading a climate mainstreaming facility.
