7th of April 2019, Cheras – River Of Life team made a move on promoting a soap-making workshop from used cooking oil with residents in Taman Salak Jaya during the event conducted by DBKL. The workshop is one of the River Of Life – Public Outreach Program initiatives to promote our society to a green and sustainable lifestyle.
There are more than 40 people participating in the workshop ranging from the age of 12 years old to above 30 years old. The participants were excited to learn how to turn used cooking oil into soap bars. The workshop was handled by 4 EcoKnights members and 4 members of ERE. The participants were very enthusiastic and very interested as this is their first time learning on how to upcycle waste.
Soap-making workshop is one of the ways you can recycle used cooking oil easily and practically. This initiative can definitely save our river as well as preserving and protecting it from any further damage.
