In conjunction with River of Life Public Outreach Programme on 12th January 2018 (Saturday), EcoKnights team with the help of six volunteers from Sunway University conducted a maintenance work for the 30 trees planted during last year’s Vanke Tree Planting Initiative at Surau Al-Falahiah 1 Razak Mansion. The students joined the maintenance as part of their university requirement coursework to expose themselves in the volunteering work.
The maintenance started with weeding and removal of unwanted creepers, followed by applying organic compost and coconut husk. Observations were made and found that one of the Longan berlian plants had died due to lack of water while other plants managed to sustain a healthy growth.
Overall, the maintenance was a great effort to ensure the trees planted grow healthily and beautifully and at the same time promote volunteerism among youth.
