12th June 2019 (Wednesday) – In conjunction with the River of Life Public Outreach Program, EcoKnights had successfully assisted Pernod Ricard’s teams in cleaning up two logbooms at two different locations concurrently. The program started with an opening speech from a representative of Pernod Ricard and a simple briefing about the River of Life programme.
The first location was in Gombak River beside the Public Housing Seri Terengganu flats in Sentul. There was a total of 53 volunteers that worked together to clean up the log boom: 40 volunteers from Pernod Ricard and 13 members from EcoKnights and River of Life. Despite the fact that the logboom was turned upside down after a prior heavy rainfall, the team still managed to collect as much as 831.2kg of waste along the logboom.

The second location was located in Kerayong River, next to the PPR Seri Alam flats in Pudu. There was a total of 29 volunteers working on the logbooom clean-up together: 20 volunteers from Pernod Ricard and 9 members from EcoKnights and River of Life. The total amount of waste collected from the logboom was 225.4kg of waste and 2 old Bikes.

After the clean-up, EcoKnights proceeded to the next activity, which was the mudball-making workshop conducted by EcoKnights, followed by throwing the mudballs into the rivers. The purpose of the mudball-making workshop was to teach the volunteers about how mudballs help to improve the quality of river water. The programme was ended with a group photo.
