Kuala Lumpur, on 12 April 2019, Hutan Simpan Bukit Nanas Conservation Project was launched at Taman Eco Rimba KL. Joining us, as the honorary guests of the day alongside Fadly Bakhtiar (Program Director of EcoKnights) were Pn Mariatul Qiptiyah (Deputy Director Forestry Department Kuala Lumpur) Mr. Lang Cong (Managing Director, Vanke Malaysia) and Miss Fong Chuen Far (Project Coordinator, River Of Life KL). There were more than 50 volunteers all together from SM Sains Alam Shah & Vanke Malaysia along with various medias were part of this launch.
The launch was then continued with a tree planting activity of 30 forest fruit trees around Taman Eco Rimba KL where all the volunteers participated during the launch. After planting the tree we also put a barrier and a tag for each plant to give information about the tree name and who collaborated with us during the tree planting activities. We also did an Eco Enzyme workshop for the volunteers that came as a supplementary activity.
This Hutan Simpan Bukit Nanas Conservation project initiatives will keep continuing so that we can make urban forest a better place. Our next target with this initiative is to plant another 20 different forest plants around Taman Eco Rimba KL. As part of our goal, we hope that this initiative can encourage anyone to join us as a volunteer and make the urban forest an interesting place to visit.
