The River of Life (ROL) project is part of Malaysia’s National Transformation Policy that aims to transform eight (8) rivers that transverse the Klang Valley. This is to revitalise, rehabilitate and restore these rivers from its initial state of condition which can sustainably support green and recreational spaces, improve urban liveability and sustainability of urban rivers, ultimately increase the social and economic value of the riverine zones.
Under the public outreach component of ROL under Phase 3A, the KLEAR program includes the boundaries of two (2) major rivers – Sungai Kerayong and Sungai Klang. The main thrust is to engage, mobilize and empower riverine stakeholders such as education institutes (schools and universities), residential associations and businesses to adopt a more sustainable approach to their lifestyle as a solution to minimize their impacts on these two rivers.
