As part of EcoKnights&#8217; CEPA efforts to promote sustainable living to the public, a workshop on the importance of sustainable practices in nurseries and kindergartens was conducted by the organization&#8217;s president, Yasmin Rasyid, today.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thirty nursery and kindergarten educators were trained to have a basic understanding of sustainable food waste management in their premise, and how to engage their young students to be engaged and involved in this sustainability effort as part of the school&#8217;s curriculum.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"384\" height=\"769\" src=\"http:\/\/2020.ecoknights.org.my\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/f1543302951278_resized_20181127_031940639.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6237\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The workshop started with an introduction on the importance of acquainting young children to the basic understanding of their relationships with nature before the workshop focused on the importance of inclusive participation of children in understanding the basics of sustainable food management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Yasmin also shared the multiple approaches to composting with a specific focus on backyard composting.\u00a0 She offered the opportunity for their premise to get a free bin if they are keen to pick up composting in their learning spaces.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" src=\"http:\/\/2020.ecoknights.org.my\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/f1543302951314.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6239\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" src=\"http:\/\/2020.ecoknights.org.my\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/f1543302951302.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6241\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The workshop is delivered in support of the Petaling Jaya Local Council&#8217;s Low Carbon City Framework for the city of Petaling Jaya, an effort that aims to engage the public in low carbon initiatives towards sustainable cities development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If your company or school is keen to run the same workshop in your premise as an enhancement to their knowledge and understanding of sustainable living, talk to us today or email your inquiry to us at info@ecoknights.org.my.<br><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Category: News Published: Wednesday, 28 November 2018 16:01 27th November 2018, Hulu Langat &#8211;
