17th & 20th January 2019, Kuala Lumpur – EcoKnights has engaged with more than 70 personnel during their public outreach duties at Fullbright ETA 2019 and KL Car Free Morning. The target audience for the outreach duties were the American English Teaching Assistant (ETA) serving in Malaysia, and the general public joining the car free morning event respectively.
The objective of the outreach was to share the efforts of the Ministry of Federal Territory in conserving the rivers within Klang Valley through their River of Life project, and how EcoKnights plays a role in it by educating the public towards better waste segregation at home. The Knights have shown the audience some examples of solid soaps, liquid soaps, and candles they made from used cooking oil, and the household compost bin that people can put in their backyard. The teaching assistants and the KL Car Free Morning participants were so amazed by the upcycled products and were inquiring about the knights to conduct such workshops at their schools and communities. Other than that, knights also share an application called ROL Citizen Eye where you can report any river pollution within Klang Valley.
