NGO and industry teams up to educate Malaysians about smart energy auditing
18 May 2016, Kuala Lumpur – Local technology company, Reneon Technologies, an innovative energy conservation company, will be partnering with local environmental NGO, EcoKnights, to promote services to save and maximize energy costs.
Reneon Technologies, a Malaysian company founded by Ashwin Menon and Dinesh Selvamurthy, specializes in energy management & energy efficiency solutions. IVIS is their proprietary cloud-based energy management platform that combines detailed visualizations & alerting mechanism to assists end-users towards optimizing their energy usage and inadvertently reducing their carbon emission. To-date IVIS has been installed in various buildings, ranging from F&B outlets, office spaces, education institutions, factories, hotels to even residential homes & condominiums.
“The partnership is strategic and EcoKnights aims to demonstrate the importance of managing one’s energy wisely through the use of Reneon’s systems,” said founder and president of EcoKnights, Yasmin Rasyid.
“Right now, the IVIS platform installed in our office provides real-time information on how much the office consumes energy on an hourly basis. With the usage patterns generated on an online platform, we know which parts of our office consumes the most energy and allows us to now devise strategies and ways to reduce that use. In short, knowing how much we consume and in which part of the office, makes us more aware of our own energy consumption patterns and carbon footprint”.
“Through IVIS, we wanted to empower end users, be it for the commercial, industry or even residential sector towards taking steps in being more energy-conscious. The solution is an easy-to-use tool for you to track your energy usage, identify potential issues with your equipment as well as provide you with an alerting mechanism & energy reports to guide you in your energy conservation efforts. Our collaboration with EcoKnights is a milestone for us as the shared interests between both teams in creating awareness on energy conservation for the Malaysian community is a timely one,” said co-founder & business developer of Reneon Technologies, Dinesh.
Reneon will be showcasing their systems at this year’s 9th Kuala Lumpur Eco Film Festival and will also be measuring the energy consumption of the Festival throughout the festival period. EcoKnights and KLEFF aims to offset this year’s Festival carbon footprint once the Festival is able to quantify the Festival’s energy usage this year.
