Message From President of EcoKnights,
Allow me to start off this newsletter by wishing Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri to all Malaysians and hope that everyone had a great time enjoying the Raya treats and holidays.
Recently, during the fasting month of Ramadhan, we launched Beg2Bekas Ramadhan Campaign which was aimed at heightening awareness to refuse plastic bags and Styrofoam containers at the food bazaar. We were also on-ground in the bazaar distributed cloth shopping bags to the public, in case they needed one but didn’t have one with them. Watch a podcast of an interview in the media on the campaign.
Meanwhile as we approach the middle of July, the team is currently gearing up to prepare for the MHB Knights of Nature Sustainability Camp (KON), which will be taking place in Johor on the 10-13th August 2017. Special thanks for Astro Vbuzz and Traxx FM on the interviews promoting our efforts in youth leadership development in sustainability.
At the same time, we are also approaching our biggest annual green platform, the 10th Kuala Lumpur Eco Film Festival (KLEFF). The team is working extremely hard for the 10th anniversary edition, and we feel the strong support from the public. Moreover, we are as well looking for talents who are enthusiastic in contributing towards the If you like to be part of KLEFF as volunteer or a performer drop us an email today.
Lastly, EcoKnights is proud to be invited to be a part of Sustainability Summit 2017 where leaders across Asia will be gathering for a forthright discussion about the opportunities and challenges inherent in the transition to sustainability. Feel free to visit their official website to know more!
Thanks for reading our newsletter this month! Stay tuned to our regular updates on the websites and our social media platforms. Have a great month ahead!

What Our Interns Say
Find Out What Our Previous Interns, Aaron and Jeyapriya Have to Say About Their Experience at EcoKnights!
Aaron Riang: Honestly, I did not know what I signed up for and the only advice I gave myself was “brace yourself”. Guess what? It worked out well.
Jeyapriya: WOW!! I have just completed two months of internship at EcoKnights. That was fast.
On the 20th June 2017, EcoKnights, in collaboration with ERE and the Department of Irrigation and Drainage (JPS) kick started the “Beg2Bekas” Ramadhan Campaign at the Bazaar Ramadhan in Taman Tenaga, Cheras. This programme is one of River Of Life - Public Outreach Programme (ROL-POP) components which aims to increase ecological consciousness among Malaysians to embrace sustainable lifestyle. One simple way of starting it off is by simply saying no to plastic bags.
EcoKnights is very happy to be able to be a part of Sustainability Summit 2017. The Sustainability Summit 2017 will bring together industry leaders, entrepreneurs, policymakers, regulators and leading researchers from across Asia for a forthright discussion about the opportunities and challenges inherent in the transition to sustainability.
