KUANTAN, March 17 (Bernama) -- The majority of the youths in the country are aware of the bauxite issue in Pahang which brought repercussions to the environment and local community's socio-cultural fabric.
Environment organisation, EcoKnights programme executive Nabila Shohaimi said the conclusion was made in a survey conducted by the organisation with Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) and Waseda University of Japan.
The study involving 419 respondents aged between 18 and 30 from all over the country conducted via internet, also found most youths lacked understanding of the economic importance of bauxite mining to the economy, she said.....
