HSBC Tree Maintenance

by Muhammad Hafiz Ardiansyah

11th of May 2019 (Saturday), Sungai Bunus Retention Pond, Titiwangsa – HSBC, with the help of EcoKnights, had successfully conducted a tree maintenance programme, whereby both parties took a look at the trees that had been planted on the 16th of March 2019.

The programme started with removing unwanted creeping plants as well as weeds, and repaired the fencing around the trees because some of them were almost destroyed due to heavy rain and wind. Then, fertilizer and coconut husk were applied to the base of the trees. Lastly, the trees were watered, and the team discovered that some of the trees had died due to several possible factors such as the lack of water, unsuitable type of soil, and the non-conducive surrounding environment. Out of the 40 trees being inspected, two Kuning Telur and eight Mahkota Dewa trees had died.

Overall, the maintenance was a great effort to ensure that the planted trees grow up healthily, beautifully, and filled with love.
