One of the easiest way to manage waste is through recycling. EcoKnights has strategically collaborated with iCYCLE, a solution provider of waste recycling system. iCYCLE aims to cut down the amount of waste going into landfill or incinerator in Malaysia.
iCYCLE is a social-business portal that allows consumers, individuals and organisation to track and monitor their recycling activities. In addition, it helps to add value for the society by reducing, reusing, and recycling their waste. EcoKnights has been a recycling centre for the community of Taman Tun Dr. Ismail (TTDI) since last year. A large blue bin has been placed at the front yard of EcoKnights office, for the people to easily come and drop their recyclable items. The items that can be recycled include plastic, aluminium, glass, paper, and other non-organic materials.
Since our office is located at the heart of the residential area in TTDI, we have seen a remarkable turnout in terms of the number of people recycling on a daily basis. EcoKnights is a recycling centre, not only for the residents of TTDI but also for anyone who is willing to come and recycle with us. Every Tuesday, a pick-up truck will come to the office and collect the recyclable items.
There are three simple steps to recycle here at our headquarters. Below is a diagram to show you how:
Another unique feature of iCYCLE is their wonderful reward system. Since iCYCLE is an incentive-based recycling provider, the public is given the chance to earn points when they recycle with us. These points, also known as Recyle Points (RP), can be redeem for rewards! All you have to do is visit their website here and register! Once you have signed up, print out the barcode then paste it on the bags containing the recyclable items before dropping it into the iCYCLE bins. Lastly, when the iCYCLE’s pick-up truck comes to collect the items, they will scan the barcode in which the RP will be transferred into your account. Who knew recycling can be so rewarding? We hope that the entire Malaysian community practice the habit of recycling into their daily lives.
