Lake Edge Residents Receives Backyard Compost Bins and Free Workshop

January 8th, 2016, Puchong – It was a bright and sunny Sunday morning at Lake Edge and many residents came out to join EcoKnights today in a workshop to enhance their responsible management of food waste from home.

As a recipient of the Shell Sustainable Development Grant, EcoKnights’ “From Garbage to Garden” program is about educating the public about one method of composting, which is the backyard composting method. The public are encouraged to sign up in the program where a workshop is provided to increase the knowledge and awareness of the public on composting. After a member of the public has attended the workshop, they will walk home with a free 60L backyard composting bin. What a deal!

Since the program was launched in November 2016, the registration for this program has been overwhelming and currently, the program is closed as it has reached is limit for participation. A total of 360 members of the public have signed up and will be receiving the workshop and bins in the following months.

In general, the residents of Lake Edge who attended the workshop were very enthusiastic to kick start a greener lifestyle. We wish them all the best!

For corporates who are keen to come on board our effort and be part of this program, we welcome any inquiries. We are currently looking for corporates who are keen to partner with EcoKnights in this same program. Kindly contact our Program Director, Fadly Bakhtiar at fadly@ecoknights.org.my if your company is keen to be part of this program.
