30th January 2016, Kuala Lumpur – EcoKnights, together with 19 other environmental and social organizations participated in Air Asia’s #Green24 event which is a climate awareness movement aimed to educate and promote climate action, an effort that’s part of the airline’s Corporate Social Responsibility initiative throughout the Asean region.
Air Asia hopes to create tangible impact by inspiring action throughout communities across the region to promote climate action at home, at our workplaces, cities and countries.
At the event, EcoKnights promoted the call for entries of the 9th Kuala Lumpur Eco Film Festival (link to KLEFF FB Page here), backyard composting, and also eco enzyme making. Visitors to the booth had the opportunity to learn about starting a composting effort at home, or a chemical-free way to clean your home, and took home free samples of ready-made eco enzyme.
EcoKnights also fundraised through the sales of its limited edition tee, and share its latest efforts in community engagement and environmental projects with the public.
We would like to thank Air Asia for inviting EcoKnights, and also to members of the public who stopped by to find out about how they can participate in future EcoKnights’ environmental activities.
Why is AirAsia embarking on this campaign?
The world is delicately shaped by climate and unfortunately climate change is a real issue impacting countries and people across the globe – and that includes us! Around the world, many of the most vulnerable communities are already struggling to cope with the impacts of climate change.
We are dependent on our planet and our planet needs us now more than ever. It is in everyone's interest to come together to promote awareness on climate issues. It’s high time for us to take climate action and it begins with you and me. Your actions and support can make a difference in how the world adapts to its changing climate and make a lifestyle change for a greener future.
It’s an urgent challenge, and it requires an equally urgent response. Together, we can make a difference!
