Meet Local and International Film Makers at KLEFF
Meet local and international film makers at the coming festival and get a chance to mingle with them and talk about film making or the environment. Either way, this would be a great chance to exchange ideas, share experiences and connect.
Michael Ross is the producer of “True Cost” and has worked as a creative producer and project coordinator in film and advertising. Beginning his career in journalism at local stations in Florida, before going on to Mirada Studios where he worked on award winning advertising for clients including Disney, Expedia, IBM, and AT&T. He has a passion for leading others in producing films that will make a difference in the world. Michael is a graduate of Florida State University where he majored in media production and business. - See more here.
Benjamin Cappelletti is a music video clip and commercials director. Native of Montauban, city close to Toulouse (France), Benjamin settled down on Paris in August 2005. Benjamin has collaborated with MOPA (My Own Private Alaska), Sidilarsen, Zaho, Tunisiano, Kery James, Kayline, Eko of 94, Yazou, Kamelancien, Limsa, Kenza Farah, Bakar, Alibi Montana, Asso, and many of the others. Amy Benson is one of the directors of “Drawing the Tiger”. She is the co-owner of Nonfiction Media, a production company in Seattle. She has shot and edited over 25 short films, telling the stories of nonprofits in the Pacific Northwest, Africa and Asia. Her personal documentary short -- "Three: Impressions from the Struggle for Girls' Education" -- was the centerpiece of the UNIFEM Singapore Film Festival. Another short, "Called to Shine," about the only female preacher in Clarksdale, Mississippi, premiered at the Langston Hughes Film Festival. Her very first short, about life in a local homeless encampment, won awards from Seattle International Film Festival and The Seattle Times. "Drawing the Tiger" is her first feature film. "Drawing the Tiger" premiered at the 2015 Hot Docs Film Festival in Toronto on April 29.
Green Market to feature 76 local and international Green NGOs and Green Enterprises
One of the highlights of this year's festival is the Green Market featuring 76 environmental and social NGOs, and green enterprises that will be promoting sustainable consumption and production to the general public. Among some of the exhibitors are Cherrybomb and d+M. Cherrybomb is an online fashion shop which sells designs that are made from unwanted fabrics and materials. d+M is a design company that specializes in sustainable design for children. Carpool to KLEFF with Tripda Malaysia
The 8th KLEFF is glad to announce the collaboration with Malaysia's largest online carpooling platform, Tripda as the Transport Solution Partner for the festival this year! “Carpooling is an advantage in every aspect. Apart from reducing traffic, overcoming parking problems and reducing carbon emission, it also brings people together in friendship and unity. It will definitely benefit participants and volunteers of KLEFF in fostering friendship even before arriving at the venue” said Victor Ang, Tripda Malaysia Managing Director.
Apart from promoting environmental sustainability through its carpooling programme, Tripda will also be contributing RM5 to EcoKnights for every carpooled car to KLEFF that will go towards their environmental initiatives. Eco Art Exhibition by Christine Das at KLEFF
Malaysian contemporary artist Christine Das will be exhibiting her nature-inspired drawings at the White Box, Publika throughout the KLEFF weekend. The exhibition is free to the public and you will also get a chance to check out her live installations as she mingles with the festival goers.

The 8th KLEFF has recently announced the 2015 Official Selections for this year’s screenings. These are films you don’t want to miss as they were carefully selected by the pre-screening committee and has some mind-blowing environmental stories to tell.
