C4C Soap-making Workshop at Taman Tugu KL (28th March)

In partnership with Taman Tugu, EcoKnights is conducting monthly workshops at the park under School of Sustainability (SOS). The second edition of workshop on 28th March, will be on soap-making with the objective of reducing improper disposal of used cooking oil. SOS is planning on teaching the participants how to make their own household soaps from used cooking oil. This workshop will be conducted at Taman Tugu Nursey starting from 10.00am – 11.30am.

Throw and Grow (TnG) at Taman Tugu Nursery

On 29th February (Saturday), School of Sustainable (SOS) had conducted its first workshop at Taman Tugu Nursery called Throw and Grow (TnG) from 10.00am – 11.30am. With the help of social media advertising by EcoKnights and Friends of Taman Tugu, TnG was able bring in 9 participants and raised RM90 funds for Taman Tugu. The workshop started off by screening KLEFF films (Biodynamic, Small Farmers and Now You See it), at the tree house, to raise awareness about our forest’s ecosystem crisis. After screening, all participants were gathered around at Kiosk to conduct seedbomb-making workshop. Thanks to Taman Tugu, the workshop was able to conduct in a peaceful environment where all the participants are allowed to get closer with the nature. Overall, participants were enjoying the workshops and TnG managed to obtain 113 seedbombs at the end, in which 100 of the seedbombs were donated to Taman Tugu and the rest was brought back by the participants.

13th KL Eco Film Fest (KLEFF2020)

The Kuala Lumpur Eco Film Festival (KLEFF) is Malaysia’s first and longest-serving platform promoting sustainable living through showcases of environmentally-themed films and programs. Since 2008, KLEFF’s mission is to accelerate mainstreaming of sustainable living and stewardship of the environment through the power of audio visual materials and activities.

In the month of October, KLEFF hosts the screening of more than 50 films reaching to an audience of more than 5,000. With the collaboration of partners and sponsors, KLEFF is gradually becoming the nation’s celebrated grassroots cultural and environmental event.

The Kuala Lumpur Eco Film Festival is a not-for-profit program organized by local environmental NGO, EcoKnights.
