Nominated as Wild Asia's fourth and final hero for 2010 is Tijah Yok Chopil, an
indigenous woman of the Semai tribe. Tijah has devoted her life to
empowering and uniting the once-scattered Orang Asli's of Peninsular
Malaysia. Her dedication led to the historic 3,000-strong protest at
Putrajaya in March this year.
Wild Asia Heroes is a project to recognise the unsung heroes in our community. They aim to honour ordinary people in Asia who are making a difference, protecting the environment and empowering communities.
