26 May 2012, Ipoh, Perak -- EcoKnights conducted a two hour talk and film screening at the SMK Convent, Ipoh today to about 80 female students from Secondary 4 and 5.
Organized by the school's Interact Club, this talk is part of EcoKnights "Sustainable Lifestyle" series which brings basic and practical ideas to harness a healthier and more sustainable manner of everyday activities.
The talk was conducted by EcoKnights president, Yasmin Rasyid. The focus for this talk was on the realization of the finite resources the planet has and the rate of consumption, global and local, of food and natural resources. Yasmin also touched on basic practices which each student can easily carry out within their school compounds.
The talk was followed by a short film screening of "On Borrowed Time", produced by WWF-Malaysia and directed by Novista Sdn Bhd. The film brought tears to many of the female audience, and prompted them to think more about daily consumption patterns. A brief "Q&A" session was also held.
EcoKnights would like to thank Teoh Jae Mie for taking the initiative to invite EcoKnights to inspire her peers.
