27 April 2012, Petaling Jaya - EcoKnights was invited to the IACT College at the Jaya One campus today as part of the new IACT and EcoKnighs collaboration with the film and broadcasting department to encourage IACT students to work on their environmental film making projects.
This initiative was taken by IACT lecturers Azizul and Cyrus, who have both been following EcoKnights' programmes, the Kuala Lumpur Eco Film Festival and Anugerah Hijau.
About 20 students from braodcasting and event management background attended the brief held at the Gallery of the IACT campus.
The briefing was conducted by president of EcoKnights, Yasmin Rasyid.
A brief introduction to the KLEFF and Anugerah Hijau competition guidelines was given by Yasmin, folllowed by a screening of some of the past year's best and winning environmental films.
Anugerah Hijau, is a nationwide competition for youths to be the country's next eco warrior in three competitive categories: GREEN FILM, GREEN SPACE and GREEN FASHION. Information about the competition were distributed to the audience to encourage them to be part of this nationwide hunt for creative ideas in solving environmental issues.
This was then followed by a quick brainstorming session with the students on the kind of environmental issues that could be translated to a story with environmental message(s).

The students were also prompted with many ideas and suggestions to start them thinking about their project - a short film and a 10 minute documentary on an environmental issue of choice.
Several sessions are scheduled to develop the students' ideas into films with powerful green messages. EcoKnights looks forward to working closely with IACT students under the guidance of Cyras and Azizul to produce quality materials for public awareness.
