Malaysia Airports to hold green fashion contest at KLIA

November 30, 2011, Wednesday, Sepang (Borneo Post) -- SEPANG: Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad (Malaysia Airports) is extending its green initiatives to include a broader cross-section of its practices and services.

To do this Malaysia Airports is encouraging commercial retailers to consider sustainable and ethical approaches in product offerings as well as sales initiatives.

It is leading the way at its premier fashion event iStyle Fashion KL International Airport 2011 carrying the theme “Runway Green”.

Launching the extravaganza Faizah Khairuddin, Senior General Manager Commercial Services said that iStyle Fashion 2011 underscores Malaysia Airports’ effort to position KIA as a premier international lifestyle destination while encouraging participants and sponsors to be responsible in their approaches, products and practices.

“In 2004 KLIA was the first and only airport in the world to receive the Green Globe certification. Through iStyle, we hope to widen other segments of our operations.

“Our aim is to unearth and expose our young designers and concessionaires to this growing trend that will impact them and their future. We want to pique their interest in eco-fashion and eco-retailing,” said Faizah.

iStyle Fashion KL International Airport is the only fashion event to be held at an international airport.
