"Sustainable Lifestyle" series kickstarted in University Malaya.

Sustainable-Lifestyle-Series-for-YouthsMay 2, 2012, Kuala Lumpur -- The  Community and Social Development Committee of the 12th college University Malaya residential dorm organized the Community and Social Development week on campus this week. This is part of the Committee's efforts to raise awareness and consciousness about both environment and social issues.

EcoKnights president Yasmin Rasyid contributed a 2 hour talk on sustainable lifestyle and sustainable development.

She shared issues related to everyday consumer-based lifestyle habits and brought to light very basic steps a first year student can take to build a more sustainable future.

It was a fun and interactive talk which also had the 70 students participating by sharing their perspectives on the topic of sustainable habits.

Yasmin also briefly introduced the audience to EcoKnights' on going effort called Anugerah Hijau, which is a nationwide competition for youths to be the country's next eco warrior in three competitive categories: GREEN FILM, GREEN SPACE and GREEN FASHION. Information about the competition were distributed to the audience to encourage them to be part of this nationwide hunt for creative ideas in solving environmental issues.

This talk is part of the EcoKnights Sustainable Lifestyle series which targets youths in high schools and universities. This talk is made possible with the funds from the Selangorku Grant.
