EcoKnights Speaks at the 14th National Undergraduate Leadership Camp

kkb128 July, Kuala Kubu Bharu -- President of EcoKnights, Yasmin Rasyid, was invited to speak at the 14th National Undergraduate Leadership Camp (Kem Kepimpinan Mahasiswa Belia ke-14) this weekend at Kuala Kubu Bharu.

The camp, organized for the 14th time, was held at Kem Bina Semangat at Ampang Becah, Kuala Kubu Bharu and was attended by around 60 university students. The camp was organized by the MCA National Education Bureau with the support of the Sports and Youth Ministry and the Ministry of Higher Education.

kkb2The theme for this year's camp is "Malaysian Youth towards Limitless Horizon".

The camp is aimed at molding youths to be future leaders through a weekend of traiing and awareness by both government and non=govenrmental organization to provide a platform for the participants to excel in all areas and contribute in the nation's development and progress. The youths were encouraged to share out their ideas with the nation's leaders and speakers and work out as a team to translate knowledge in to action.

Yasmin shared a very interesting topic with the participants titled "Is there balance between the environment and economic development?". Joining her in the same session was Lee Wei Urn, Aasistant director of the "Environment and Natural Resource Economic Section" of the Economic Planning Unit. A one hour Q&A session was held for the participants to inquire on any issues related to the environment and environmental policies. Many of the participants were very curious and asked many questions on the Lynas issue as well as the development of the country's nuclear plant.
