ROCKIN 4 THE ENVIRONMENT IS BACK! AND THIS TIME WE ARE DOING IT FOR THE SUN BEARS!

EcoKnights together with the Environmental Education Alliance of South East Asia (EEASEA) and the Borneo Sun Bear Conservation Centre (BSBCC) presents Rockin’ Rockin’ 4 the Environment - SUN BEAR ROCK! in conjunction with the Earth Day celebrations from 21-28 April 2012.

Rockin’ 4 the Environment has so far piqued the interest of animal conservationists around the world and raises vital funds and awareness for conservation and environmental education oriented NGO's in Malaysia. So far, the program has contributed a total of RM55,000 since 2007 to its non-profit partners.

This year Rockin' 4 the Environment has partnered with the Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre in Sabah to raise awareness and funds for sun bear conservation!

Led by a group of schoolteachers and musicians, and the International School of Kuala Lumpur the weeklong festival takes place at DoPPel Kafe @ Central Market Annexe in the heart of Kuala Lumpur and aims to raise a further RM35,000 for the plight of the endangered Sun Bears in Borneo.

This year, it has also gained the support of private sector partners like marketing & event solutions company - Go International Group Sdn Bhd, venue sponsor Central Market, environmental education partner - Eco-Knights and many more.

This year students from University of Malaya, Pasir Ridge International School in Balikpapan, Indonesia, Jakarta International School, Sinarmas World Academy in Jakarta, International School of Kuala Lumpur, Singapore American School, and United World College South East Asia are all participating in their respective locations.. that's an audience of 10,000+ students that will become aware of the plight of the threatened sun bear!

The festivities in Kuala Lumpur will take place from April 21 - 28th at Doppel Kafe in the Central Market Annexe with school groups, local artists and NGO's doing their part to spread the word for conservation in Malaysia and SE Asia.

If you are interested in participating and setting up an informational booth at SUN BEAR ROCK! on April 28th (from 10 am - 5 pm - or any part of the day) then please let us know!

NGO's will received a FREE booth... and are encouraged to sell merchandise as well as promote their cause at SUN BEAR ROCK! (We will ask for a donation at the event and ask you to contribute how you see fit.)
