28 March 2011, Semenyih – EcoKnights continued with is talk on “Sustainable Lifestyles on Campus” at the University of Nottingham, Semenyih. The invitation for this talk came from the president of the Nature Club.
The speaker for the talk was Yasmin Rasyid, founder and president of EcoKnights.
She shared with the audience the organization’s roles and projects in the areas of youth development and environmental education. The audience was very inquisitive to know the ways and methodologies in which they and the Nature Club can engage from Nottingham students to start embracing a more sustainable campus life. The talk soon turned in to an intense discussion where Yasmin shared her personal experiences in dealing with challenges in changing mindsets.
Yasmin also briefly introduced the audience to EcoKnights' on going effort called Anugerah Hijau, which is a nationwide competition for youths to be the country's next eco warrior in three competitive categories: GREEN FILM, GREEN SPACE and GREEN FASHION. Information about the competition were distributed to the audience to encourage them to be part of this nationwide hunt for creative ideas in solving environmental issues.
EcoKnights would like to thank the students who organized this talk and hoped that the talk was inspiring and educational. If you are keen to invite EcoKnights to your university for a talk on sustainable living on campus, please email info@ecoknights.org.my for more details.
